80% Rule
Hara hachi bu is the 2,500-year-old Confucian mantra that reminds Okinawans to stop eating when their stomachs are 80% full. The 20% gap between not being hungry and feeling full could be the difference between losing or gaining weight. People in the Blue Zones eat their smallest meal in the afternoon or early evening, and then don’t eat again for the rest of the day.
Join the Culture of Wellness Committee for the next Community Lunch on Thursday, June 13 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the Bishop Steiner Building in Room 300. All employees are encouraged to come and “build your tribe” at CCS!
