At Kaiser Permanente, preventive care has always been an essential part of your health plan.

Preventive services include immunizations and screenings to detect possible diseases and help you stay well.And now, under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as health care reform, certain preventive care services in many of our planswill be covered with no cost sharing. This means that you won’t have to pay copayments, coinsurance, or deductible payments for some preventive services specified by the government, such as:

blood pressure screening for all adults cholesterol screening type 2 diabetes screening for adults with high blood pressure mammograms every one to two years for women over 40immunizations for children from birth to 18 years obesity screening and counseling for children
