During the Christmas season, CCS programs benefit from an outpouring of generosity from the community. Mission Benedict volunteers helped prepare over one hundred Christmas food boxes to distribute to vulnerable members of the community, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, 118 children had gifts to unwrap on Christmas day, as well as cozy jackets and warm PJs! To make this possible, the Fostering Hope Initiative Community Health Team hosted a Christmas workshop at the CCS Bishop Steiner Building, with gift items organized and displayed by age group, where parents in need could shop for presents for their children free of charge. PJs for kids were gifted by United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley, and toys and stocking stuffers were generously donated by Green Acres Landscape, Inc., Valley Credit Union, ServiceMaster Restore and many more.
To meet the increasing need for food at Mission Benedict, CCS will be hosting food drives throughout the year. Please contact [email protected] if you can help.
