A passion for helping others to enjoy a happy healthy life is what brought Bonnie Todd to Catholic Community Services (CCS). Prior to joining CCS, Bonnie worked for Albertina Kerr as an assistant program manager for eight years. She began working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at CCS in August 2021. “I absolutely love what I do,” says Bonnie. “I feel like I can make a difference in the lives of the people I help. By making sure their daily needs are met, I can help them achieve the happy, healthy life they deserve.”
Recently, Bonnie helped one of our adult residential community members, Sherry, travel to Disneyland. Members of the adult residential program at CCS have the freedom to travel, provided they are accompanied by a CCS DSP. Sherry and Bonnie made the journey to Anaheim, California and experienced the magic and joy of Disneyland together. “It was so much fun seeing her that happy,” says Bonnie. “That’s one thing that is very important to me: when I’m able to make their lives happy. I love what I do and do what I love.”
Bonnie attributes her mother’s caring heart as her biggest influence. “Growing up, my mother was my role model. She taught me to love everyone, no matter what. My mother loved everyone.”
