Megan Monahan, a registered nurse with Providence Medical Group, was taking a Public Health Nursing course that required her to complete a project for practical experience in Public Health. She contacted Catholic Community Services and was introduced to the Mission Benedict and St. Joseph Shelter programs in Mt. Angel. Immediately, she knew this was the place she wanted to serve and coordinated a time-limited opportunity for donations of diapers. In only a few short weeks she collected 2,834 diapers (26 boxes) for Mission Benedict which will serve over 283 children/families. We want to thank Megan for her gracious contribution to the welfare of those we serve with this wonderful gesture. Megan shared with CCS Volunteer Services Coordinator Heidi Frederick that the project was so fun and rewarding that she will definitely consider our programs for future ventures. “Volunteers and donors like Megan are such a vital part of Catholic Community Services,” said Heidi. “Their contributions are so far reaching, and we couldn’t do this work without them.”
