“The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action”

-Mother Teresa

Love is one of our core values, and it’s in everything we do here at CCS. Whether your role here is direct care or administration, we all strive to be loving people in everything we do. In the field of service, we tend to give and give until we can’t give anymore. When we are exhausted and pushed to our limits, we are more likely to snap and respond in a way that is not compassionate. At the end of a hard day, it can be helpful to bring yourself back to your ground of being – back to the things that you know to be true to yourself and how you want to show up in the world.

The Four Big Questions provide a solid framework for us to become more acquainted and stay in tune with our most authentic selves.

The Questions are:

  1. Who am I?
  2. What do I cherish most?
  3. What do I need to learn to grow?
  4. What do I need to do or practice?

To help us remind ourselves who we are in those stressful moments, we have affirmations. As CCS employees, our affirmation is: We are loving people who cherish and enjoy a full measure of peace and happiness, safe, stable, nurturing relationships, good health, and the knowledge, skills and virtues we need to succeed in life at the things that are most important to us.

Aside from who we say we are and how we show up here at work, there are things we believe and things we cherish on a personal level that may be slightly different. As an individual, what do your affirmations look like?
