More than 100 Safe Families for Children (SFFC) staff, volunteers, and partners gathered last Friday for the first Oregon Collaborative Conference: Strengthening Our Community. SFFC Founder Dave Anderson gave an inspirational address during breakfast, followed by workshops throughout the day and a closing presentation by Donna Beegle of Communication Across Barriers.

Attendees from throughout the state were affirmed for their dedication to this national movement of compassion by a young mom whose life was changed by Safe Families. She had been paralyzed by depression after the death of her fiance. Safe Families staff and volunteers walked alongside her providing prayers and concrete support with anything and everything from childcare to help with starting a business.
