Students from Regis High School in Stayton visited the Bishop Steiner Building (BSB) to learn more about CCS programs and how each department functions to support our mission. Their day began with a tour of the BSB where they learned about each of the nine programs within CCS and got to speak with several staff members about their positions at CCS. Their day began with a tour of the BSB where they learned about each of the nine programs within CCS and got to speak with several staff members about their positions at CCS. It was wonderful to showcase our diverse staff and show the Regis students that you can have a job you’re passionate about while working at a nonprofit! CCS employs people from all different backgrounds and walks of life that are dedicated to the CCS mission. After their tour and staff presentations, the students went up to room 300 and listened to a presentation from the Communications Department, talking about how they raise funds and support of CCS through donor relations, events, volunteers, grants and other fundraising and “friend-raising” efforts. The Regis students were then given the task to plan a mock fundraiser for Mission Benedict. They were tasked to create a flyer or campaign to either raise funds, collect canned food or get a volunteer group together to support Mission Benedict. After presenting their ideas, they were encouraged to make these fundraisers a reality in their school, church or community.
Thank you to Regis for bringing the students in for this wonderful learning opportunity! View the full photo gallery here.
