Local Knights of Columbus (KoC) councils and Catholic parishes are key partners in sustaining the legacy of the late, beloved Fr. Charles Taaffe. During the months of May and June, these partners have showered the moms and babies served by our Father Taaffe Homes program with love.
The day-to-day needs of the Father Taaffe Homes Program have increased as CCS has worked to implement needed repairs at St. Brigid Home and augment services provided through Community Health Workers. Though the individual and collective contributions of the faith community are too many to list, here are a few exciting examples:
- In May, the St. Paul Knights of Columbus Council in Silverton threw a baby shower that raised over $4,000
- Oregon State KoC Charities contributed more than $12,000 in operational support
- St. Edward Catholic Church held a paddle raise at their annual dinner and provided over $9,000 toward new floors and fresh paint at the St. Brigid Home.
- During Lent, Holy Rosary Knights of Columbus Council in Portland hosted a Sippy Cup Drive fundraiser and raised over $3,000.
On behalf of the moms and babies we serve, thanks to all for their ongoing generosity in sustaining Fr. Taaffe’s legacy of life.
