Rainbow Family Services
Our history
Originally known as Rainbow Lodge, RFS was created in 1967 by the Yamhill County Juvenile Department as a residential care center for delinquent and emotionally disturbed boys.
Catholic Community Services was asked to oversee programs and operations at the Lodge, which was originally part of the family home and estate of Charles and Anne Metsker.
Rainbow spun off from Catholic Community Services during the 1980’s. Subsequently, the Lodge was closed and Rainbow Family Services emerged as a social services agency. The lodge was re-opened 2000-2004 as an alternative school, Metsker Heights School.
In 2004, with support from Yamhill County community leaders, Rainbow Family Services Board of Directors asked to once again become part of the CCS family.
With the additional support, leadership and strength of CCS, RFS continues to help create community in Yamhill County by offering programs which support families to raise their children well
