Catholic Community Services offers a number of opportunities within our nonprofit social services agency to assist students in gaining work experience through professional internship and practicum positions. Opportunities include:
Position: Public Relations Intern
Description
The Public Relations Intern reports to the Sr. Director of Development and Communications. The department mission is to inspire the community to actively care about those served by Catholic Community Services.
Key responsibilities include:
Write and distribute news releases
Develop and maintain a contact list of news media
Research and write newsletter articles, brochures, web content
Archiving of publicity and production files, print & electronic
Proofreading
Assist with event coordination
Other public relations activities as agreed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will: be a university senior or post graduate and will have completed extensive coursework in public relations, journalism, communications or related fields; possess excellent interpersonal skills; be detail-oriented and unusually well-organized; be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; and, write and speak grammatically and culturally correct English.
Commitment
Minimum of 10 hours per week average for six to twelve months.

Position: Communications Admin Intern
Description
The Communications Admin Intern reports to the Event & Production Manager of Development and Communications. The department mission is to inspire the community to actively care about those served by Catholic Community Services.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain department files and materials including, but not limited to portfolio products, news articles, photography, talent releases, reference materials, projects, print materials, samples, etc.
Work with graphic designer to coordinate and track printing orders and bulk mailing services.
Support event management activities as assigned
Coordinate and track proof-reading of materials to be printed, posted or published, assuring accuracy and
timeliness
Draft, edit, format, beautify and assure accuracy of documents, using Word, Power Point, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Dreamweaver and other software
Efficiently and accurately input data, prepare reports, mailing lists, labels, letters and other outputs utilizing Excel and/or other software
Coordinate and confirm appointments and schedules for photo shoots, meetings and other projects
Work with graphic designer to prepare and post website and portal content revisions and updates
Track video distribution, maintain inventory, and place re-orders
Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices and expense reports
Print, bind, and assemble presentation materials and reports
Update and maintain department procedures manual
Maintain supplies inventory and order department’s paper stocks and other supplies
Schedule meeting rooms, record and distribute meeting notes and action items as requested
Coordinate and implement special projects
Qualifications
Associate degree in business administration and three years relevant experience desired; a combination of training and experience will be considered.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point
Detail-oriented and unusually well-organized; be proficient with Microsoft Office suite; and, write and speak grammatically and culturally correct English.
